RM Williams Boots Care Guide

RMW boots are made to last and to make sure they do a little TLC will do wonders. Check out our guide to make sure your pair keep for as long as possible.

Every leather upper of every R.M. Williams boot was once a living, breathing skin. As a result it needs to be maintained like one. Don't treat your boots unfairly, love them (we will always have place in our hearts for these boots), condition them and polish them regularly and they will not only last longer, but they will survive whatever you throw at them throughout their life time.

We recommend using the RM Williams Australian-made range of leather-care products. They have been rigorously tested and refined for tough outback conditions to help keep your boots at their best, also great for fashion boots that also need keeping care of.

So how do I care for my leather RM Williams Boots?
First R.M Williams Leather Conditioner should be applied regularly to all leather footwear (try for every six weeks in more humid locations or as the leather becomes more dry). This conditioner will help maintain supple leather uppers and will prevent cracking and excessive creasing on your much loved boots.

Next RM Williams Leather Wax should be applied to obtain a wonderful new boot shine.
Please be aware that the use of any alcohol or oil based care products may cause damage to the leather, this could result in voiding the warranty. If you are not sure give us a call we are here to help.

I have suede boots though
RM Williams Suede Boots also need to be taken care of, we recommend RM Williams Suede Protector to be appplied to all suede footware before wear and RM Williams Suede Cleaner be applied as required. There are simple instructions on the bottles that are easy to follow and you will have your suede boots looking like new in no time!

How should I store my RM Williams Boots?
This will depend on the environment they are used in.
In humid environments we urge everyone to naturally dry your boots before storing. Please make sure that there is ample ventilation so as to avoid mould growth on the leather.
In cooler drier environments try and dry your boots when possible and store where there is some ventilation so they can dry if slightly wet still. Try to avoid leaving boots wet for long periods as this will degrade the leather over time.
